South King County Organizations Active in Disasters (SKCOAD) is a coalition of Community Organizations Active in Disasters (COAD) focused on the southern King County region in northwestern Washington state Find out more about SKCOAD and our mission or details about COADs.

We serve the approximately 20 communities in King County Regional Emergency Coordination Zone 3 (see below) between Seattle and Tacoma. We support King County's Office of Emergency Management.

Citizens and businesses should work with our member organizations or go to King County for preparedness and current disaster information. We encourage individuals to volunteer with your local organization or to enroll in regional volunteer databases, such as those hosted by Volunteer Match and United Way.

SKCOAD is not active at the community level ourserves! Links on the right and left provide an initial guide to some key regional disaster information sites.

Emergency Coordination Zone 3 includes the communities of Algona, Auburn, Black Diamond, Burien, Covington, Des Moines, Enumclaw, Federal Way, Kent, Maple Valley, Milton, Muckleshoot Tribal Nation, Normandy Park, Pacific, Renton, SeaTac, Tukwila and Vashon Island. Detailed geographic information is available on this page.
